About the event

Join us on Friday 15 May for another live Aftershock at Chorlton Arts Festival.
After trauma, there is still poetry. The Aftershock Review publishes work that speaks from the aftershocks of experience: poems of survival, identity, madness, grief, queerness, class, recovery and resilience.
It is one year since our first event at Chorlton Arts Festival, when we had just published Issue One. Since then, The Aftershock Review has grown into one of the UK’s most talked-about new poetry magazines, described by The Guardian as “a jolt to the mainstream.”
We are delighted to return with a delicious selection box of poets from Issues One, Two and Three, alongside the launch of our first Pocket Aftershock anthology: Psychosis and Our Other Madnesses.
Edited by Dr Anna Percy, Psychosis and Our Other Madnesses gathers poems that move through wards, suburbs, emergency rooms, bedrooms, peatlands and the edges of diagnosis to ask
